£119 - Combined Brake Fluid Change and Air Conditioning Service Offer

Brake Fluid Change

Volkswagen recommend that brake fluid should be changed every two years, because brake fluid is a hygropscopic fluid - which means that it absorbs water over time reducing its effectiveness.  If the fluid is not changed before the water content reaches the 3% mark, the water brings down the normal boiling point of the brake fluid and air bubbles are created as a result, once this happens the brakes become ineffective and dangerous.  As a motorist you may not be aware that this has taken place because the braking system will appear completely normal until the brake fluid reaches the reduced boiling point - which usually occurs after braking heavily.  The brakes take on a sponge-like feeling and do not work, so the car fails to stop.  Also you can be fined up to £2,500 and disqualified  from driving if your vehicle does not have safe and well-adjusted brakes.

Air Conditioning Service

Again Volkswagen recommend that your air conditioning is serviced every two years which includes a refresh.  When it comes to air conditioning, there is no such thing as friendly bacteria.  Millions of micro-organisms flow through your Volkswagen's air conditioning every year, these can cause bacterial growths to form in the system, resulting in bad smells, poor air quality and a rash of potential allergens.  Air conditioning should be left switched on all year round.  Regular operation reduces the chances of unpleasant odours and maintains the reliability of system components.  If you neglect your air conditioning system, you can suffer from excessive fuel consumption, caused directly by inefficiencies in the air conditioning system and permanent damage to system components.

So for £119 you can have both your Brake Fluid changed and your Air Conditioning serviced.
